Privacy note
This is a one person business, so this can be short. I am Marc Winn, I run Welcome Aboard from St Peter Port, and I am the data controller for anything you send me through this site.
What the form collects
Your name, email address and message are required. You can also choose to share where you are based, who the enquiry is for, your situation, what brings you here and who would be paying. That extra context is optional. The form uses a submission reference and a hidden spam check; the delivery service also uses your email and, where available, a hashed network address to limit repeated requests.
Where it goes
Only public visit context is kept for the current browser session: the first page, an approved source or placement and, where recognised, the referring site's hostname. If you send an enquiry, that context and the submission page are stored privately with it so I can understand how you found me. Query strings, fragments and worksheet answers are not included. An invitation click records interest only, not a booking.
Your enquiry is stored privately on this site's Lovable Cloud service first. The native email service then attempts an acknowledgement to you and a separate notification to me. If the native notification cannot be confirmed, Formspree is used as a fallback to pass the enquiry to me by email. An acknowledgement is automatic, not my personal reply, and email delivery can fail. Your enquiry also sits in my inbox and, if we work together, in my notes.
The household worksheet
The free worksheet keeps answers only in the current browser page. They are not sent, saved or included in analytics, and disappear on reload or when you leave. Printing or saving a PDF happens only when you choose it.
Visits to this site
The hosting platform counts visits to this site. It records which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visitor was, what kind of device they used and how long they stayed. It does not use cookies and none of it identifies you.
The site also uses Google Analytics, which does set cookies and collects similar information: pages viewed, approximate location, device and how long visits last. I use it for the same reason, to see whether the guide is reaching anyone. I do not use it for advertising, and it is not shared with anyone else. You can block it with any standard tracker blocker and the site works exactly the same.
What I do with it
I use it to reply to you and, if you become a client, to run the service you are paying for. I do not sell it, share it or rent it. I will not add you to any mailing list from this form. I do run one, and people join it deliberately and elsewhere, never as a side effect of asking me a question. If I ever need to pass something to someone else, for example an introduction to a school or a business, I will ask you first.
Deleting it
Email me and ask, and I will delete what I hold and tell you when it is done. You can also ask for a copy of it, or ask me to correct it. Write to marc@marcwinn.com.
The law
This is handled under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017. If you think I have got something wrong, tell me first and I will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority in Guernsey.
